Your birth chart is basically a snapshot of the sky at the time and place you were born. The horizontal line in the middle represents the horizon, so all the planets above it were in the sky if you looked up at that moment, and all the ones below it were underneath your feet.
In Astrology, the sky is like a mirror that reflects what’s happening down here on earth. By taking a closer look at where all the planets are in your chart and how they relate to one another, you can gain deeper insight into who you are, and more importantly, where you’re going.

Your Love Personality
When it comes to love, what’s your type? Whether you’ve got a 10-page list of qualities you look for in a partner or just a vague idea of the person you want, everyone has their preferences. Venus, the planet of love, can tell you everything you need to know about why certain people catch your eye while others leave you yawning. What are you ultimately seeking in relationships? And what challenges get in your way? Here, we’ll look at what Venus is up to in your birth chart, as well as what’s going on in your 7th House of Relationships. When you’re done, you’ll know exactly what to look for in an ideal mate.
Venus in Aries
♀ ♈
You love the thrill of the chase! Aries is the hunter, so excitement is probably more important to you than security is. The one who's hard to pin down keeps your heart in the game, mostly because you’re no different. You move quickly and need someone who can keep up. Your ideal mate is willing to take risks and compete for your love. If they lack this fervor, you could be tempted to pick a fight just to fuel the fire. A relationship without any passion is like a meal without any flavor. If something is bland, you’re likely quick to overdo it with the hot sauce. The test for you is to stay with someone during the less exciting times when mundane routines dampen your enthusiasm. No one despises a wet blanket more than you. But once deeply in love, your desire to push and challenge one another makes you a strong partner in crime. Actively discovering who you are in a relationship helps you taste the spice of life. You want to be appreciated for your independence and respected as a free individual. Love is not something you keep locked away in a cage, but rather something you need to experience fully in its natural habitat.
Venus in 12th House of Dreams
♀ Ⅻ
Love is not just a casual coincidence, but rather a divine destiny. With Venus in your 12th House, you’re plugged into the interconnectedness of all things. This inner knowing makes your imagination so strong that you can fill a blank canvas with ease and grace. Becoming a celebrated artist is not outside the realm of possibility for you, since your endless compassion will inevitably shine through your creative expression. Be careful not to get too comfortable in the realm of fantasy, though -- being a hopeless romantic can get you a little lost. If others notice your big heart, they might be tempted to take advantage. You’re so sensitive to the pain and suffering of others that you likely want to tend to them as if they’re your own. This is where you need to learn how to color inside the lines. Despite your desire to merge with the people you love, owning your boundaries is a necessary step in forming healthy relationships. There’s a big difference between being generous and being self-sacrificial. If a part of you wants to hide or escape into someone else’s storyline, then ask yourself -- what kind of internal pain are you avoiding?
Venus Conjunct Moon
☽ ☌ ♀
Make no mistake, your emotional intelligence is an asset, but it can lead to difficulty every now and then. Your sensitivity to the needs of others makes you highly empathetic, giving you an innate desire to take care of your loved ones. This inspires you to be one of the most caring and intuitive people around. You’re highly aware of your feelings and their impact on others. If you put everyone else’s comfort ahead of your own needs and desires, though, you could end up in some very lopsided relationships. Learning to voice what you feel is absolutely essential.
Venus Sextile Mercury
☿ ⚹ ♀
No matter how heated a conversation may get, you’re not one for hurtful words or crass insults. The sextile between Mercury and Venus reflects your commitment to loving language. What’s the point in saying the most cutting thing you can think of just to win an argument? Your level head makes you a fantastic mediator or diplomat. But in some situations, you might prioritize tact over needed honesty. Too much tension in a room can wear you down, so be sure to schedule time to relax and get back to your center -- you can’t solve everyone’s problems.
Venus Conjunct Ascendant
♀ ☌
Hey, good lookin’! With Venus conjunct your Ascendant, others are attracted to your natural beauty and charming personality like moths to a flame. In fact, you have a deep appreciation for anything aesthetically pleasing. Whether that means using your refined grace and social skills to host an elegant soiree or channeling your desire for harmony into an interior design project inspired by feng shui, you of all people know that life is gorgeous. You see the world through the lens of your relationships, and in turn, the people you love may be your world. Having balance and equality in those connections is of utmost importance to you.
Venus Square Midheaven
♀ □
Are those your dreams you’re following, or someone else’s? With Venus square your Midheaven, there’s some tension between your personal values and your family’s values. You’ll be deeply dissatisfied if you continue to pursue a path that doesn’t have your name on it. But deep down, you might have no idea what you want to be when you grow up, even if you’re already past that point. It’s never too late to pivot. In order to figure out where to go next, start by facing the insecurities that get in your way, so the path ahead is clear.
Venus Square Neptune
♀ □ ♆
Are you the person at the dinner table who always gives someone else the last slice of pie? You may think your needs must come last if others are to love you. As a result, you’re good at playing the chameleon, changing forms to fit the wants of those around you. These sacrificial tendencies can prevent you from seeing people as they really are. However, lasting partnerships require illusions to be set aside. So, what do you need? Asking this question might feel selfish, but it can actually be quite selfless. You’re here to learn that putting yourself first sometimes is a noble act indeed.
Libra on the 7th House Cusp of Relationships
♎
Relationships are like oxygen -- you just can’t live without them. By intimately getting to know someone else, you inevitably learn more about yourself. But have you looked in the mirror lately? Because you might start to resemble the person you’re dating. Being a chameleon has its benefits because you know how to be likable. However, it’s essential that you don’t identify too strongly with your partnership, or else you’ll blend in so well with your surroundings that you start to feel invisible. Balance is a major lesson for you in relationships, particularly around knowing what’s yours and what isn’t.
Pluto in the 7th House
♇ Ⅶ
Pluto is one intense planetary force! Since it overshadows your house of partnership, there’s a magnetism about you that can be somewhat intimidating. Careful! Your feelings for someone else can quickly turn from passion to obsession. Fears of loss, betrayal, and abandonment could haunt you, leading to all sorts of trust issues with those you’re intimately involved with. In order to have a successful long-term relationship, you’ll be forced to face these inner demons and begin a deep process of transformation. As you heal from old relationships with power imbalances, you’ll slowly take back your own power and emerge more you than ever before.
Venus Direct
♀ 𝐃
It’s smooth sailing for your love life -- okay fine, maybe that’s not true. Things can get rocky now and then, and you’re not exactly immune to getting seasick, but you’re probably not going to get lost at sea or anything! With Venus moving direct, you’ve got a relatively clear view of what you want in relationships. And while there might be some other aspects in your birth chart that muddy the waters, your ship is moving forward, even if you have no idea where you’re headed. Who needs a map or a compass when you’ve got a heart to follow?
Your Love Language
Now let’s talk about your love language. Maybe you use words of affirmation to show someone you care. Or perhaps you do so nonverbally through physical touch. Everyone has their own unique way of expressing the L word, and understanding your communication style can help you do so without it being so terrifying. In your birth chart, Mercury reveals how you communicate, while the Moon has a lot to say about how you nurture others and what helps you feel emotionally supported. Here, you can explore these astrological placements, along with what’s happening in your 3rd House of Communication. The revelations might just leave you speechless!
Mercury in Aquarius
☿ ♒
You’re not an easy person to read, but here goes nothing. You think outside the box, you march to the beat of your own drum, you keep everyone on their toes, and you love when people admire these things about you. Intellectual conversations are your forte. If someone else’s eccentric mind can give you a run for your money, your heart is sure to skip a beat. You celebrate the unique qualities of your partner and want them to do the same in return. But since you’re always offering a different perspective or thinking critically about the topic at hand, your communication style can come off as emotionally detached at times. So don’t forget to throw in some terms of endearment here and there.
Moon in Aries
☽ ♈
Everybody stand back! You need ample space to express your feelings, otherwise they might be unleashed through angry outbursts. Make sure your partner knows that you need freedom to be your own person or else you’ll just end up picking fights. What you really need is someone who will fight for you, not with you! Find a confident partner who can satisfy your desire for passion, spontaneity, and friendly competition. In return, you’ll help them feel alive. Just remember to slow down, think before you speak, and remind yourself that you’re both on the same team.
Mercury Sextile Moon
☽ ⚹ ☿
To say you wear your emotions on your sleeve would be an understatement! This is all thanks to a harmonious relationship between Mercury (your mind) and the Moon (your feelings). For better or worse, you tend to be an open book -- hearing the sound of your voice is enough to determine the kind of mood you’re in. Because you’re so in tune with your feelings and the feelings in the room, you’re extremely easy to talk to. If someone calls you for advice, they may get a busy signal since everyone else probably had the same idea.
Mercury Square Pluto
☿ □ ♇
Thinking for yourself isn't the easiest endeavor, especially when the whole room disagrees with you. It takes effort and sometimes a lot of trial and error for you to get your point across effectively. You might have a tendency toward starkly defending your position. But it’s through conversations with others that you understand which opinions are worth holding onto. Nothing is black and white! Life is nuanced. It is by living in the world that you adjust your preconceived notions. Watch for cognitive dissonance within yourself as you do. Strive to hold misunderstandings and misconceptions as opportunities to transform yourself and your mindset.
Gemini on the 3rd House Cusp of Communication
Ⅲ ♊
There’s no shortage of words in your house. When you tell someone you love them, they might get a ten-page love letter about it -- or at least an earful. You probably have an easier time telling your loved ones how deeply you care about them than you do showing it in more grounded, tangible ways. There’s no denying that words of affirmation are your go-to love language, but don’t forget about the power of a warm embrace. Since you like to connect intellectually, sitting and reading your respective books or working side-by-side with your sweetheart is enough to get your heart pumping.
Mercury Retrograde
☿ ℞
Has anyone ever told you to speak up? Are you tired of having others tell you to just spit it out? It could feel as if there’s a distant memory of a time you stumbled over your words and fell flat on your face. Maybe your opinion got you into a whole lot of trouble one time. Or perhaps you used slanderous words with malintent in another life. The fear that haunts you of repeating the past may prevent you from saying anything at all. But don’t be fooled -- despite any learning difficulties that might trouble you or communication blocks that trip you up, your brain is nothing short of brilliant. Since your mind works overtime trying to make sure the right words come out of your mouth, it’s quite possibly the strongest part of your body. You’re just learning how to land on your feet.
Your Desires in Love
What really gets you going? Mars, the planet of sex, passion, and action, has a lot to say about how you use your energy. By understanding the nuances of how you assert yourself in the world and what motivates you to do so, you can learn a lot about your approach to sex and romance. So, what does it take to turn you on? It’s time to find out. Here, we’ll look at what Mars is up to in your birth chart, as well as what’s happening in your 5th House of Romance and your 8th House of Intimacy. Warning: it’s about to get hot in here.
Mars in Sagittarius
♂ ♐
When it comes time to fight or flight, you’re already out the door, but that doesn’t mean you won’t stand up for your views and values. There's nothing like a passionate debate to inspire you to take up arms. You believe in a higher calling, which is why your morals and integrity matter so much. Lies and dishonesty offend you on a level that goes way beyond personal offense -- it may feel like an offense against the very order of things. However, others will have their own beliefs about the world, and they aren't necessarily wrong just because they differ from yours. Try not to let your confidence turn into self-righteousness. If the conversation gets too serious, you’ll be running for the hills. Don’t be fooled, you’re a jokester at heart! Your optimism and humor make it hard not to love you. Thus, you’re probably used to getting your way most of the time. That attitude is not going to work so well in romantic relationships. Watch your selfish tendencies, and try to put your lover’s needs before yours once in a while. Your eagerness for excitement can make you somewhat impatient. At the end of the day, you just want to have fun. Sex is how adults play! If someone can joke with you in bed, then you’ll both be rolling on the floor laughing.
Mars in 9th House of Expansion
♂ Ⅸ
You might need to get a new passport at this rate! Your restless spirit needs room to stretch its legs. Whether that means jet-setting to foreign lands or learning about different ideologies, you're driven by activities that transport you beyond the borders of your own lived experience. Some might consider you optimistic, others could call you a dreamer -- you live your life with a sense of purpose, and others likely want to come along for the ride. While the world is your playground, so is the bedroom. Sex should be fun, and if it’s not, you’re likely to lose interest. You’re contagiously playful and disarmingly funny. If you end up egging someone on with your strong opinions, you can easily break the tension by cracking a joke. You can’t always use your sense of humor to get your way, though. If someone prefers it sunny side up, don’t waste your time convincing them over easy is better. Try to accept the reality that people are bound to disagree with you sometimes. Instead of challenging their beliefs, let them be free to think for themselves. It’s all you really want at the end of the day. Still, if you can find someone who shares your zest for life and your passion for debating about the meaning of it all, your sexual chemistry will take you far.
Mars Sextile Sun
☉ ⚹ ♂
You’re not trying to be something you’re not. Understanding who you are and what you want out of your life comes easily for you, and that’s a true gift. It’s important to understand that others might project insecurity onto you or try to talk you out of following your dreams if they are not as comfortable expressing themselves. Don't let that get in your way! It’s important for you to be in partnerships with confident people who build you up rather than drag you down. Use your confident nature, cooperative spirit, and seemingly endless energy reserve to help everyone shine!
Mars Conjunct Saturn
♂ ☌ ♄
You don’t always need to err on the side of caution, but you probably do anyway. Your measured approach may actually take you farther than most! Slow and steady wins almost any race. And when people see that, they’ll be turned on by it. Stamina is not your issue. Patience is your secret weapon, and endurance is your ticket to fame and fortune. Even so, your serious attitude is the main thing that may lead you to burnout. While it’s incredibly attractive to be firmly dedicated to the people and passions that drive you, do yourself and your lover a favor and crack a joke every now and then.
Mars Conjunct Uranus
♂ ☌ ♅
Volcano much? Explosive bursts might be your modus operandi. Whatever flavor the impulse takes, be it passionate or angry, it's likely sudden and intense. Regardless, your raw sexual energy could melt someone’s heart. You aren't one to sit on the couch and wait for what you want. You'll make it happen! The downside is that your need for excitement can cause you to be quite impulsive. It’s probably hard for you to keep a lid on your passion, but taking time to burn off some steam may be necessary to avoid any unnecessary implosions. Instead of spontaneously erupting all the time, channel your energy constructively. That’s where you’ll release your inner genius.
Mars Trine Jupiter
♂ △ ♃
Go big or go home, they say (and by “they” we mean “you”). While some find themselves paralyzed by a dangerous ascent, you actually get charged up by it. The bigger the better. Challenge feeds your fighting spirit, and as a result, you may find that your achievements astound even you. You’re the one to always choose “dare” in a game of truth or dare. On the other hand, your knee-jerk response to accepting a challenge isn’t always a good thing. You'd be wise to assess if it's worth the risks first. The best part is that you’re not interested in decorating your bookshelf with trophies that mean nothing to you. Deep down, you just want everyone to win. And that is wildly attractive.
Mars Opposite Chiron
♂ ☍ ⚷
Vulnerability may send you running in the opposite direction of what you want. This doesn’t mean you’re hopelessly avoidant, necessarily -- you might just have trouble trusting your impulses and desires. Anger can flare when your insecurities come out, and you could ignore your pain in the moment, thinking it will only slow you down. In actuality, reaching the finish line is more difficult if you don't tend to your blisters and sore muscles. Taking the time to address what hurts will make you a stronger competitor -- and a more attuned lover and life partner -- in the long run.
Leo on the 5th House Cusp of Romance
Ⅴ ♌
“You’re not any fun”… said no one ever! Play is second nature to your naturally joyous soul, and with such a generous spirit, you just want everyone else to be having as much fun as you are. Your laughter is highly contagious. Others are attracted to your childlike nature, and you’re drawn to the same energy in others. Nevertheless, you have to grow up at some point. Relationships are not all fun and games, so don’t be a sore loser when things get hard. If you can tap into your loyal side and stick around even when things aren’t so exciting, you’ll get to enjoy the next round of lighthearted connection. Everyone wins.
Scorpio on the 8th House Cusp of Intimacy
Ⅷ ♏
Taboo? Don’t mind if you do! You’re highly turned on by the idea of bonding with someone on a soul level, especially if they are in full devotion to you. Your desire to be intertwined with another is a little intense, so much so that it can even border on obsessive. That’s because you’re terrified of the possibility of betrayal. Once you give someone the keys to your castle, you run the risk that they’ll overthrow the kingdom. You can’t constantly worry whether someone is going to commit treason, though. Do not underestimate your own power. Instead of using it to manipulate others, use your naturally passionate nature to bring whatever (or whoever) you want to life!
Your Love Predictions
The planets are constantly moving, and as their energies shift, so does your love life. While some days are ripe for romance, others are frankly better for hiding under the covers (with or without a special companion). In this report, you’ll discover how upcoming astrological events relate to your birth chart. To get the most accurate forecast, we’ll see what’s going on with Venus, the planet of love, as well as some other key players. This will give you everything you need to know, from why you’ve been in a romantic rut, to the best time to ask out your latest crush.

Planets
The planets of our solar system -- including the Sun, Moon, and Pluto -- create a sort of map in the cosmos. When a person looks at their Astrology birth chart, they are looking at the exact locations of each planet at the moment of their birth -- in essence, a map of their life.
Each planet is connected to a deity, archetype, or idea that represents some part of our fundamental nature as humans. By understanding the meaning of each planet and the ways it can influence our lives, we have the opportunity to understand not only what drives us, but, ultimately, how far we can go.
The Sun Your Ego Structure
Your Ego Structure
The Sun is the center of our solar system. All life revolves around it. In the same way, the ego is the center of personal identity and gives integration and continuity to individual experience. In this sense, it might be said that the Sun in Astrology reveals a person’s character and is the prime indicator of what the individual is trying to achieve. This is the fixed pillar at the center of the person around which all else revolves.
The sign placement of the Sun indicates how your natural drive and ambition are going to be directed. The sign of the Sun is the most primary indicator of the forms of experience you are attracted to. The house placement of the Sun shows the primary area of expression for the individual in life. There is a psychological, emotional, and physical significance to the house placement of the Sun.
Aspects to the Sun show ways that the core of the personality is linked to other component elements in the individual’s life. Aspects to the Sun have a deep and overriding significance in the life of the individual and are generally more important and more prominent than other aspects in the chart.
The Moon Your Personal Life
Your Personal Life
The Moon inscribes a circle around the Earth. It moves more swiftly than other celestial bodies and thus represents day-to-day and moment-to-moment movements, adjustments, and preoccupations. The Moon in Astrology represents the inner, emotional life and the unconscious, which is molded and shaped by our environment, events, and social and familial expectations. Further, the Moon indicates how we respond to life as a result of our past habits and experiences, our heritage, and our individual and collective instincts.
The sign placement of the Moon tells a lot about your private inner life, how the instinctive and imaginative component of your mind operates, how you express your feelings, and your most general experiences with your family and mother figure.
The house placement of the Moon shows how and where you make day-to-day adjustments and indicates which realm of experience will play a dominant role in your emotional life. Further, it shows the things you are most drawn to in order to gain emotional equilibrium.
The aspects of the Moon show general characteristics of the personality that are emphasized. Planets in aspect to the Moon are symbolic of qualities in the personality that are used instinctively, habitually, and with a high degree of versatility. While the Sun reveals your intended purposes and lessons for this present life cycle, the Moon represents what you have already done and developed, hence, what is instinctive and natural to you and what you tend to do over and over again.
Your childhood is also reflected in the Moon’s placement, because it’s through those childhood circumstances that any unresolved past-life issues are restimulated. Your subconscious predisposition is indicated by the Moon’s position as well. It is the psychic imprint of the past. Furthermore, the nodes of the Moon in an Astrology chart describe behavior patterns from the past and indicate the direction you are evolving toward as you move forward in your life.
Mercury Your Mental Life
Your Mental Life
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. From our viewpoint on Earth, it seems to dart back and forth across the face of the Sun. Mercury is the planet of your mental life. It shows how you receive, process, and disseminate information. It also relates to short trips, siblings, and other parts of your immediate environment. The sign placement of Mercury shows your basic attitude and mental habits. The aspects of Mercury show your scope of vision and your methods for accomplishing tasks.
Venus Your Love Nature
Your Love Nature
The planet Venus shows the way you express your love nature and what you deem good or beautiful in life. It also influences your approach to partnerships and indicates what adjustments will be made in order to encourage a loving relationship. Venus thrives on harmony and is drawn to social activities of all kinds, as well as the arts (music, dance, literature, and drama, among others). The sign placement of Venus describes your style of sharing your love with others. The house placement of Venus shows the natural area of expression for your love energy. The aspects of Venus indicate how and under what circumstances you express the gentle and loving side of your nature.

Aspects
When a planet in the sky makes a specific angle to another planet, that angle is called an “aspect.” Planets that are aspecting each other are influencing each other, changing each other’s energy. Some aspects are soft, meaning that the qualities of the two planets come together smoothly and harmoniously. Other aspects are hard, meaning that the qualities are at odds with one another and may create tension or conflict.
There are a handful of different types of aspects, but most astrologers focus on six major aspects: the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, quincunx, and opposition. You can learn what each of these means -- plus a few rarer aspects -- by reading below.
A note about Orbs: Planets don’t have to be at the EXACT degree for us to feel its effects. The number of degrees that two planets can travel apart while still being considered in aspect is called the “orb.” Different astrologers use different orbs, but the closer that two planets are to an exact aspect degree (the smaller the orb), the more noticeable the effects will be.
Conjunction 0 degrees
0 degrees
If two planets occupy the same degree or are very close to each other, they are said to be conjunct. Most astrologers believe that conjunctions are dynamic, but not as difficult and challenging as squares and oppositions. Planets that are conjunct tend to energize each other.
Sextile 60 degrees
60 degrees
If two planets are close to being 60 degrees apart, they are said to be sextile to each other. Sextiles are similar to trine aspects and considered favorable.
Squares 90 degrees
90 degrees
If two planets are close to being 90 degrees apart, they are said to be square to each other. Almost all astrologers agree that squares are motivating but can be difficult. Some astrologers emphasize the negative potential of a square, while others focus on the character-building potential inherent in this aspect.
Trine 120 degrees
120 degrees
If two planets are close being 120 degrees apart, they are said to be trine to each other. Most astrologers agree that trines are soft and easy, pleasant and harmonious, but sometimes lazy. However, trines can provide relief from the tension inherent in more challenging aspects that may also be present in a person’s chart.
Quincunx 150 degrees
150 degrees
If two planets are close to being 150 degrees apart, they form a quincunx aspect. Most astrologers view the quincunx as being awkward, bothersome, and requiring adjustments from a person.
Opposition 180 degrees
180 degrees
If two planets are close to being opposite to each other in the sky, they are forming an opposition aspect. Most astrologers agree that oppositions are difficult and often emphasize challenges with other people. However, the challenges suggested by an opposition can be balanced and resolved with effort.
Semi-Sextile aspect 30 degrees
30 degrees
If two planets are close to being 30 degrees apart, they form a semi-sextile aspect. This is generally regarded as being a slightly harmonious or favorable minor aspect.
Semi-Square aspect 45 degrees
45 degrees
If two planets are close to being 45 degrees apart, they are in semi-square aspect. This minor aspect is similar to a square aspect, though often not quite as intense. Some astrologers feel that the semi-square creates very internal challenges or conflicts.
Sesquiquadrate 135 degrees
135 degrees
If two planets are close to being 135 degrees apart, they are in sesquiquadrate aspect. Generally regarded as being similar to a square, but some astrologers feel that this minor aspect is easier to release and express than a square aspect.
