NASA Aims to Take Edge Off of 2012 As 2012 the movie opens and the media blitz surrounding a supposed doomsday date begins, many astrologers and numerologists are trying to debunk legends that say December 21, 2012 marks the end of days. Now joining the effort is NASA, which seeks to provide a public service by creating an FAQ page entitled, "2012: Beginning of the End or Why the Earth Won't End?" It is NASA's hope that the page will act as a reassuring resource full of scientific facts that will soothe people's nerves now and come 2012. Read more »
Identifying with Popular TV Characters Through Astrology The meteoric popularity of AMC's series Mad Men is largely due to the strong, compelling characters on the '60s era drama about the advertising world ... which leads one AMC blogger to call on "armchair astrologers" and ask, "Your suggested Sun signs per each major [Mad Men] character?" He provides his own theories, positing that the mysterious Don Draper must be Scorpio, due to his hidden past and seductive personality. Read more »
Alternative Romance: Astrology in Hip Hop
As the Washington D.C. "Beltway Killer" John Allen Muhammed was executed this week, media outlets reminded us of his other nickname: the "Tarot Card Killer." As Muhammed went on his murderous shooting spree, he once left behind the Death card from the Tarot deck. It has yet to be fully explained why he left this clue, but it is worth noting that in Tarot, the Death card is not meant to be taken literally -- it hints at drastic change, not necessarily an end to mortal life.
